2007 Armadillo Dash

1,098 runners came out on the cold morning of March 4, 2007 to run the inaugral event. Texas A&M head football coach Dennis Franchione kicked off the event with the count down, and runners were off to enjoy the beautiful course and enthusiastic water stop participants. The Christ United Methodist Church Youth Group won the water stop competition with their wild antics of the Village People, YMCA style. They won $500 toward their charity activities. Runners returned to Central Park and enjoyed a great deal of food and fun! See more race day photos here.

Running for a cause
Runners of the Brazos Valley not only enjoyed a successful Half Marathon and 5K in College Station, but supported a great organization. In May, the Armadillo Dash presented Scotty's House, Child Advocacy Center of the Brazos Valley, a check for $18,000.00. Funds are earmarked for the medical exam room in their new building.
